What is Athlete's Foot?
Athlete's Foot is a fungus infection affecting the outer surface of the skin (epidermis), though it may invade the deeper surface (dermis) in special circumstances.
Athlete's Foot can manifest itself in a variety of forms. It may start as small bubble like eruption (vesicle), which if removed reveals red glazed skin beneath and frequently will cause a small cut in between the toes.
Athlete's Foot appears commonly between the small toes and causes soreness and itching. Athlete's Foot can also appear as an inflammation eczematous type spreading from between the toes to the ball of the foot. The rash appears as a dry scaly skin.
The rule of thumb for treatment is if it's wet, dry it and if it's dry, wet it.
